Phase III RFP Update
On Friday, May 15, The State Board of Education approved the awarding of Redesign funds for up to $13,000,000 for the 2009-10 School Year.  However, the Mississippi Legislature has not passed a budget for FY10 which begins July 1, 2009.  This will not allow us to award Redesign Grants to Phase III sites at this time due to the uncertainty concerning the amount of funds we will actually receive for the coming year.  Once the Legislature passes an Appropriations bill for the Department of Education and we know exactly how much money we have for Redesign, we will contact you and set up training times and dates for Administrators and teachers.  I realize that this information is coming to you much later than we would have liked, but we did not have authority to commit to this training before now.  Thank you for your patience.

Updated 04/13/09

The state legislature has not approved a budget for the 2009–10 school year. Once the legislature approves the budget and the Phase III sites are approved by the state board of education, Phase III sites will be announced. The next state board meeting is May 15.

Additionally, Phase I and II districts have submitted a request to implement pathway courses. The announcement of accepted Phase I and II Pathways will be announced after the legislature approves the budget and the state board of education approves the selection. The next state board meeting is May 15.
