MDOT Videos

Title 1: MDOT Office of Enforcement (5:07)
The Office of Enforcement is responsible for regulating weight limits, permits, privilege tax, road traffic safety and inspections. In this video clip, students will learn about the math used for jobs in this office and how the enforcement officers work cooperatively with the Bureau of Narcotics and the Internal Revenue Service.

Title 2: MDOT Office of Quality Assurance for Roadways (4:55)
The Office of Quality Assurance is responsible for monitory the quality of the roadways by observing construction and testing samples of all types of road materials. In this video clip, students will learn about the math, computer programming, and equipment that are used and how the inspectors work cooperatively with road construction companies.

Title 3: MDOT Office of Freight, Rails, Ports, and Waterways (5:01)
The Office of Freight, Rails, Ports, and Waterways is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all other modes of transportation ways. In this video clip, students will learn a brief history of this part of transportation system and how math is important for jobs in this area.

The Engineering Department is responsible for surveys, property maps, and research of property records. In this video clip, students will learn about the math, technology, physics, and history that is important for jobs in this area.

The Office of Intelligent Systems is responsible for making sure all of the computer systems and the information systems work together to manage road transportation infrastructures for traveler safety alerts. In this video clip, students will learn about the technology that is important for jobs in this area.

The Office of Aeronautics is responsible for aviation safety, oversight of airport design inspections, and aeronautical charting.
