Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Applications
News
Updated 08/27/2009
There will be two sections of STEM training, one at Northwest Rankin High School (Flowood) and the other at South Panola High School (Batesville).
The training will be completed through a hybrid course design. This means that participants will meet online via our Blackboard Learning System and meet face-to-face at the designated times as listed in the table below. This hybrid course design allows greater schedule flexibility for participants/teachers and our instructors.
If you have additional questions, please contact Dr. Cathy Davis at cathy.davis@rcu.msstate.edu.
Registration Information
Newly hired STEM teachers in Phase I and Phase II sites have already been registered for the fall training. This information was requested by Mike Mulvihill through Lotus Notes and through e-mails to superintendents and other administrators in Phase I and Phase II districts.

Travel Information
All High School Redesign Phase I and Phase II teachers who are trained during the school year will be reimbursed for mileage. Districts that are not in Redesign are responsible for mileage reimbursements to their teachers. Lunch will be provided at each training location.
Stipend
The Mississippi Department of Education/Office of Vocational Education and Workforce Development determined that providing grants to teachers who receive High School Redesign training during the school year would fall outside the scope and intent of the summer training grant.
